How to get to Lazaretto Nuovo Island
To reach Lazzaretto Nuovo in the Venetian Lagoon on July 27 for a 7:00 PM performance, you will need to rely on the ACTV waterbus system (vaporetto). Because Lazzaretto Nuovo is a small, historical island primarily used for cultural events and guided tours, navigating there requires a few very specific rules that differ from standard Venice travel.
1. The Core Route
- Vaporetto Line: Line 13
- Departure Point: Fondamente Nove (F.te Nove), located on the northern rim of Venice’s main historic center. Line 13 typically departs from Pier D.
2. Getting There in Time (Targeting 7:00 PM)
The boat ride from Fondamente Nove to Lazzaretto Nuovo takes approximately 20 to 22 minutes. To arrive comfortably before a 7:00 PM performance, you should aim for a departure that gets you there around 6:30 PM–6:45 PM. To guarantee you are not late, take the 17:25 (5:25 PM) or 18:05 (6:05 PM) boat.
