“A knock-out interpretation…Guy Roberts and Jessica Boone give outstanding performances.” – The Prague Post
“Worthy of an Oscar” – Glanc Magazine
Prague Shakespeare Company’s Venus in Fur, the sexiest, funniest, most acclaimed English-language production in Central Europe, returns to Divadlo Kolowrat for more English-language performances starring Jessica Boone and Guy Roberts.
Written by theatrical mastermind David Ives, we are introduced to Vanda, an unusually talented young actress determined to land the lead in Thomas’ new play based on the classic erotic novel, Venus in Fur. Vanda’s emotionally charged audition for the demanding playwright/director becomes an electrifying game of cat and mouse that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex, entering into an increasingly serious game of submission and domination that only one of them can win.

// Prague Shakespeare Company’s Venus in Fur the sexiest, funniest, most acclaimed English-language production in Central Europe, returns to Divadlo Kolowrat for the Czech Republic premiere of a special Czech language production starring Jana Pidrmanová and Václav Vašák.
// Written by theatrical mastermind David Ives, we are introduced to Vanda, an unusually talented young actress determined to land the lead in Thomas’ new play based on the classic erotic novel, Venus in Fur. Something wicked this way comes in Prague Shakespeare Company’s Macbeth. Blood will have blood in this fast-paced and streamlined version of Shakespeare’s classic tale of ambition, witchcraft and murder – 80 minutes, no intermission.
The witches are many and act as a sort of Greek chorus as Macbeth and his wife plan and carry out the murder of King Duncan and take to the throne themselves, only to be consumed with doubt and paranoia – or is it the witches’ dark influence that hangs over it all? As the bodies pile up, and the action steers inevitably towards its bitter end, we are reminded to be careful what we wish for.

From the mansions to the dive-bars, pursued by murder, madness, and betrayal, on the run for his life and for the future of his young country, police detective Jan Mejzlík won’t relent until he has exposed all of the secrets of…The Order of the Blue Chrysanthemum.

PSC presents the Bear Theatre Company’s adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s The Bear and The Proposal
Following a series of well-received performances in the last season, The Bear Theatre is back in the Kolowrat with an evening of one-act plays by Anton Chekhov. Set in the countryside of early 20th century Russia, both of these short comedies feature highly volatile and hilarious meetings between a man and a woman.
While Anton Chekhov is best known for his full-length dramas, such as A Cherry Orchard and Uncle Vanya, he is also one of the best ever writers of short stories. The Bear and The Proposal are his most famous examples of short plays where he combines the two skills. Explosive, funny, and generally very enjoyable, these one-act plays have been popular from the moment of their first premieres.
The Bear is the flagship performance of the Bear Theatre, the show that gave the theatre it’s name. This is the twelfth year that actors David Fisher and Lenka Fisherova have performed it together. Costumes and sets by Russian designer Tatiana Irbis.
